Privacy Policy
Your travel data stays with you.
Effective date: October 21, 2026
In short: ResiDays does not require a ResiDays account and does not use advertising, analytics, tracking, or a developer-operated server. The app does not send your travel history or photo information to us. Your ResiDays data is processed and stored on your device.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how the ResiDays iOS app ("ResiDays," "the app," "we," or "us") handles information. ResiDays helps you organize travel records and estimate physical-presence days for residency planning.
2. Information processed on your device
Depending on the features you choose to use, ResiDays may process:
- Travel records you enter or review, including dates, countries, optional U.S. states or Canadian provinces, manual corrections, notes about data quality, and the source of an entry.
- Residency planning information, such as optional target or eligibility dates and app preferences.
- I-94 travel-history fields you import, including the displayed row number, date, arrival or departure type, and location code.
- Photo metadata you authorize the app to inspect, including a photo's date and embedded location, for suggesting possible travel dates and countries.
This processing occurs on your device. ResiDays does not transmit this information to us.
3. Optional photo location scanning
If you choose Scan photo locations, ResiDays asks for access to all or selected photos through Apple's Photos permission system. The app reads photo dates and available embedded location metadata to make travel suggestions for your review.
Photo analysis is performed on your device using offline geographic data. ResiDays does not upload your photos or photo metadata. It does not save photo image data, thumbnails, photo-library identifiers, exact GPS coordinates, or city names in the travel journal. If you accept a suggestion, the app saves only coarse reviewed evidence such as the date, country, optional state or province, clue count, selected time zone, and relevant review warnings.
You can limit photo access to selected photos, decline access, or change the permission later in iOS Settings. ResiDays remains usable without photo access.
4. Optional I-94 import and the CBP website
You may paste an I-94 travel-history table into ResiDays or open the official U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) I-94 website inside the app. The in-app browser uses a temporary, non-persistent browsing session and is limited to the official i94.cbp.dhs.gov domain.
ResiDays reads the travel-history table currently displayed on that page only after you choose the import action. It does not read hidden pages, capture credentials, or send your CBP information to us. Information you provide directly to the CBP website is handled by CBP under its own terms and privacy practices.
5. How your information is used
Information processed by ResiDays is used to provide the features you request, including calendars, travel history, day counts, projections, conflict review, and residency-planning estimates. ResiDays provides informational estimates only and is not legal, tax, or immigration advice.
6. Storage and security
ResiDays stores its journal locally in the app's protected storage on your device. CloudKit synchronization is disabled, and the travel database is marked to be excluded from Apple device backups. The app relies on iOS data-protection and app-sandbox features to help protect locally stored information.
No method of storage is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and its passcode.
7. Sharing, sale, analytics, and tracking
ResiDays does not sell your personal information. The app does not include advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking, telemetry, or third-party software that sends your travel journal to us. We do not receive or share the information you store in the app.
8. Retention and deletion
Your ResiDays information remains on your device until you edit or remove it. When you use the app's clear function, ResiDays keeps one local recovery copy so an accidental deletion can be restored. You can permanently remove that recovery copy with the app's Discard recovery action. Deleting the app also removes its local app container from the device, subject to iOS behavior.
Revoking photo permission stops future photo scans. Coarse travel information you already reviewed and chose to save remains in your journal until you edit or clear it; the app does not retain the underlying photo or exact GPS coordinate.
9. Support communications
The app itself does not send us personal data. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include and use it to respond to your question or support request. Your email provider and ours may process that communication under their own privacy policies.
10. Children's privacy
ResiDays is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
11. In-app purchases and subscriptions
Optional ResiDays Pro purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. ResiDays uses Apple's StoreKit framework to check purchase validity and access status on your device. We do not receive your payment-card details and do not operate a server that collects your purchase history. Apple's handling of payments and App Store account information is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
12. Exports, backups, and sharing
You may choose to export travel reports, save a backup, or share an image or video. These files are generated on your device. You select the destination through Apple's system interfaces, such as Files, Photos, or the share sheet. If you choose a cloud-storage or third-party destination, that service handles the exported file under its own privacy practices. ResiDays does not automatically upload these files to us.
You control where exported copies are kept and when they are deleted. Copies saved outside the app are not automatically removed when you clear your travel data or delete ResiDays; you can delete those copies from the destination you selected.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when ResiDays features or privacy practices change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
